OFFICE OF DIVERSITY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES "Moving beyond our differences...Embracing our similarities"
Mission and Purpose
The purpose of O.D.P.S. is to provide services that promote successful college experiences for under-represented populations. These services aim to foster student development, increase cultural awareness and provide learning outcomes which are globally focused. This office will provide activities and programs that enhance the academic and social needs of a diverse and ever-changing university population. O.D.P.S. is committed to ensuring from recruitment to graduation, our students realize and reach their full potential.
The goals of the Office of Diversity Programs and Services align with the following strategic planning objectives:
- Goal 2: Attract promising students; graduate educated citizens
- Goal 4: Build a diverse and inclusive campus climate
- Goal 5: Improve the academic and social experiences of all students through comprehensive student services
Our goals also align with several of the University System of Georgia’s strategic goals:
- USG Goal 1: To renew excellence in undergraduate education to meet students’ 21st century educational needs
- USG Goal 2: To create enrollment capacity to meet the needs of 100,000 additional students by 2020
